Cycles by Xavier Serrano

The cycle continues

 biased perception clouds my judgment

I dawn the mantle as the bearer of grim news

Tarnish my name, tarnish my character

Dismantle my pride, in the dumpster my heart resides

The cycle continues

The pieces of the frame are intact yet your apologies are spent and used

And you cannot fix this detriment with flint tools

I dawn the mantle as the bearer of grim news

Wake up, cry out the anxiety, go to school

The cycle continues

Universe, I’d wish you’d start off my game file as “discontinued”

I dawn the mantle as the bearer of grim news

As I refuse the help for my issues and bury myself in a quilt of tissues

As long as I am alive, I am reminded that the cycle always continues.
