I’ve been a fan of Pokémon since I was like 8, and now being 21 I still look forward to Pokémon day. Pokémon day for those that don’t know is February 27th. This is the day the first Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Blue, came out. It was officially adopted as an annual tradition in 2016. That being said, there is a lot of speculation on what will be announced for the future of Pokémon. I am going to try and give my input and my predictions on what will be announced for this year of Pokémon games.
● New main series Pokémon game
In two years we got a new Generation in Gen 9 with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and last year we got the DLC giving us more Pokémon and past Pokémon that we haven’t seen in a while. With that being said, I feel this year we will be getting a remake of a past generation. The last remake we got was Generation 4 (the best generation). Most people think we will get a Generation 5 remake, which I would love. I think we are going to get another let’s go style game with Generation 2. While I’m not a huge fan of the Let’s Go style games, I don’t believe they have a plan on making a Let’s Go game never to make another one ever again
● Side Series Pokémon game A couple of years ago we got a game called Legends of Arceus, which dived deep into the past of Sinnoh when it was called Hisui. The game gave us insight into the history of the legendary Pokémon Palkia, Dialga, Arceus, and even Giratina. I personally really liked this game because seeing all this history come alive made me love this generation a lot more. That being said, I do believe we are going to get another one of these games, and the game we get will depend on which game we get as the main series Pokémon game. If we get a Generation 2 remake I believe we will get a Generation 5 Legend game, being Legends of Kyurem. Kyurem in the games is considered the reminiscence of the first dragon ever to be. I believe that the origin story is a story that the Pokémon company could dive deep into like they did with Arceus.
Now I cannot speak for the other side of games like Pokémon Cafe, Pokémon Sleep, Pokémon Masters as I don’t play those games a whole bunch but I do believe we will get stuff related to them because they are a big game for some people.
