On October 5th, the town had its annual Oktoberfest parade followed by an open house from 10AM to 3PM. The parade on Century Boulevard went from 10AM to 11AM. A great part of the town came to host the parade with music, marching brands, scouts, local historical memories, local fast-foods like chipotle and Chick-Fil-A, cheerleaders from local high schools, Montgomery College, etc… The parade was supported by the town spectators who were standing ovations while taking pictures. Some of the organizations used this opportunity to give information about them and how they make Germantown more interesting.
After the parade, an open house (open haus) took place still supported by good music. The open house took place at the Blackrock Center for the Arts. Outside the center, there were food vendors (Uncle Freddy’s BBQ, Sweet Crave, Popcorn & Snow Cones, etc…) and activities for children (Balloon Animals), adults (Axhilaration Axe Throwing) , and families ( photo booths). Inside the Black Rock Center, there were art, dance, and theater classes followed by galleries tours. What a great opportunity to discover more about the town and have fun with our relatives!
